Picture Love is a place to pause, reconnect your head and heart, and remember that love is something we can choose to notice within ourselves, practice with intention, and inspire others in the process.
Hosted by Kris LeDonne, the Picture Love Podcast speaks to exhausted overthinkers who want to feel clearer, calmer, and more connected to themselves through soul-led conversations, personal stories, encouragement, including guided practices.
Because the world doesn’t need more exhausted people bracing for the next crisis. It benefits when we are steady enough to meet our lives, relationships, and work from a place of love and authenticity, without abandoning ourselves along the way.
The podcast is where Picture Love began, but the conversation has grown.
If you’d like more space to reflect, the Picture Love newsletter on Substack continues the conversation in writing. And if you’re craving real-time connection, Picture Love Community is where we gather live to meditate, reflect, reconnect, and be fully human together.
You’ll find the current ways to listen, read, connect, and join us in the links included with each episode.
After two weeks of technology glitches, today’s failed livestream finally drained my battery.
So I took my own advice.
Twenty minutes later, I felt like I had taken a two-hour nap... and I noticed something much bigger than renewed energy.
Maybe filling our cup isn’t something someone else does for us. Maybe we learn how to fill our own cups, from the peace and Source already within us, while supportive people simply practice alongside us.
Today’s episode is a little regroup, a little human reboot, and an invitation to notice where you may already be supporting yourself differently than an older version of you could.
And if your battery happens to be blinking red today, this one is especially for you. 💗Here are links to the 4 guided experiences in the Bridge Series.
Hello, friends. How are you? I'm so grateful that you are here Well, this morning was a continuation of some of the same, but different technology hiccups that I've been experiencing for a couple weeks, and I know I'm not the only one. Actually, I found it rather comforting to know that other people in tech careers were having difficulty, too. But in any event, I led a live stream this morning thinking that I had sound, and I knew that the video was not working. But I had a graphic for the screen, and that was forgivable. So I led what I thought was a really, really good live stream, and then I come to find out afterwards that people were waiting by a blank screen with no sound for 20 minutes or longer. And I was just a little bummed, so I went to go see if on the back end if the recording came through, and it did. It recorded. But it was so glitchy with these strange Internet pauses that's how I like to describe this digital smear. It's like an echo with a delay in the middle of it. It was so distracting that I couldn't even use the recording. So I went to try to salvage another conversation that I had recorded, and that turned out fine. But I realize I spent a whole lot of time not getting much done and stretched my legs to let the dogs out and go have a bite to eat, and then I realized I had zero energy left. It, it just drained me, and I'm realizing, "Hmm. I must be leaking energy in places that I wasn't conscious of." So I took my own advice today, and I sat down, and I listened to one of my own guided experiences. Well, then I, I told my husband I was doing it. Then I hear clip-clop, clip-clop steps coming down the stairs, and I decided to, instead of pausing it and waiting to see what somebody's gonna ask of me, I just stayed in my zone, and then he joined me. And I'll be honest, for that 20 minutes I took a time-out, I feel like I had a two-hour nap. My brain is clear. I'm calm. And I'm feeling like that all happened for a reason. Well, I believe everything happens for a reason. I don't really believe in coincidences. But coming out of this meditation, I had it on my heart to reintroduce a series that I created a couple months back while preparing to open the doors for Picture Love Community. So what I'm gonna do is I'm going to put all four links in the show notes for this series of four visualizations, little guided experiences. And It takes you in a progression, so if you wanted to listen to them consecutively, you're gonna sit, be sitting for a little longer than an hour. But I really think that there's something extra, extra special about this collection of visualizations. And if you need to charge your battery in twenty minutes and don't have time to sleep to keep going, I encourage you to go listen to one of these. And if, if my guided meditation experience is not your style, then go, go on YouTube and, and look one up, or go on your podcast player and look for one. But when you find a place that resonates and you are willing to open your heart and pause life, it's amazing how much the mind and the body remember each other, and the brain starts firing like it's meant to. The parts of the body and the brain co-communicate, and I'm not gonna get into the science of it. I'm gonna leave that for the scientists. But all I know is I am ready to start my day all over again from that small little refuel. And I'd like to correct something that I say a lot. I'd like to refine it a little bit. You know, I talk about coming to this community to fill your cup, but really what it is, is we fill our own cups from the peace and the source within each of us. It's, it's innately in us. So i- if we come together in community, we're not pouring from our cup to fill somebody else. We're, we're doing our own work alongside one another, and that's something that I find extremely encouraging, supportive, and the opposite of enabling because it's not my job to charge everyone else's batteries and then run myself dry. It's my job to learn what my limits are and what am I capable of doing for myself. And that in its, in itself is a service to those who look to me for cues. And this morning, an older version of me sat on the sidelines and watched instead of participating, and it... I was on a walk with a neighbor, an impromptu walk. I was out with my dog. She was out with hers, and she needed, she needed a confidant. She needed somebody to talk to about something troubling her heart. And what, what I noticed in myself was releasing the need to fix, releasing the need to help, and just letting her be heard was so much easier for me than I ever thought it was, and that is how she needed to be supported. So by doing my own work and not carrying her load for her, I was a better friend. And I got home, and I realized, "Oh, wow, that didn't hurt. I don't feel drained." And you know, those scenarios are perfect places for people pleasers to overgive of themselves, and we give of our energy so easily. Anybody listening to this show knows what that means. But I hope that you notice something in yourself today that is at a new level, that you can thank a former version of yourself for their service, for their lessons, for helping you learn something the hard way, so that you are able to fill your own cup more readily, more easily in the days gone forward. And I hope that if you need a space to do that, you will come join us over at the Picture Love Community. And I did mention it before, but if you didn't hear it already, there is a unique link for you to have a free month as a founding member of Picture Love Community. So click the link in the show notes, come join us, and see if this is a place that really helps you kick off your week the way you need to. And the growing library is going to be growing very rapidly of resources and guided experiences that will be there on demand for you at will. So if you wake up in the middle of the night and you need something to help calm your mind, to help you fall back asleep, it's there. And if you find yourself midday hitting that slump, and you need a tool to help you recharge, fill your own cup, and then get back onto your day, that's what the library's gonna be holding for you. And if you want a voice reminding you that you are so worthy of the self-care involved in choosing those that you keep company with- That's the place to find it. Regardless where you and how you picture love, thank you for being here, my friend. You are so worthy, and I love you
