Calming Wildfires, Healing Waters; A guided Meditation For Hope And Renewal
Use Left/Right to seek, Home/End to jump to start or end. Hold shift to jump forward or backward.
When the world feels overwhelmed by fire, fear, loss, and difficult news, what can we offer besides more worry?
This guided meditation was created in response to the devastating wildfires affecting communities, wildlife, forests, and the Earth.
Together, we will ground our feet in healing waters, soften the body, calm the nervous system, and imagine nourishing rain reaching every place it is needed.
I'm not claiming that our thoughts alone can end a wildfire. But what if they COULD?Wouldn’t we WANT TO think the flames out, or at the very least, choose more supportive thoughts in support of those directly affected?
This is not an invitation to deny what is happening. It is an invitation to offer something steadier than fear.
Thank you for Picturing Love with me.

a refresh!
Hello, friend. Welcome back. I'm so glad you're here. Today, I'm having a difficult time thinking about anything else except Let me just rephrase this. It's difficult to turn on any kind of media and not hear some bad news. And instead of feeding the bad news with my worry, and my stress, and my fear, I would like to offer an antidote to anybody else who would like to subscribe to something better. And I'm not trying to put us in a state of denial. I'm just saying that my dysfunction is not helping anyone, and therefore, I'm gonna try to feel a little measure better and send positive energy out instead of adding to the collective fear and trauma response that is so, so documented anywhere you look. So if that sounds aligned for you, please stick with me. I feel a tremendous need to record a visualization, a meditation that's going to, at the very least, make you feel more relaxed and more connected to your body. And I would love for the best case scenario to be that collectively we all tap into a better train of thought that creates energy to support snuffing out wildfires, protecting waters, and marinating basically in gratitude for our resources and an appreciation for the wellness and the healing and the unity of connecting together as a collective in love. And whether you wanna call it meditation, or if you wanna call it prayer, or if you wanna put a, a God language on it that makes it more aligned for you, please do. My intention is to keep this translatable so that whether you are spiritual, or practical, or religious, or whatever adjectives describe your truth, uh, let it transcend any of the, language barriers that can happen when we're too busy, choosing our semantics. But this is a loving space. There is nothing but love here. And if you would like to marinate in some of that goodness and that true Picture Love with me, stick around. I would like to acknowledge the truth that's in your heart right now, the truth that's in the world. And I'd like to acknowledge the fact that your truth might look or feel differently from mine, and that doesn't make one right and one wrong. We're all here living our own experience in the presence of one another. And so I Picture Love by holding space for everybody's unique experience. You are here on purpose. I am so glad you are here. I am so glad to be here with you. And let's each choose a place where we can sit, and if you feel aligned or safe enough, a place where you can close your eyes for a little while. I think that will help me. I know I will be closing my eyes during this visualization. You can call it a prayer. You can call it a meditation. You can call it a journey. I don't care. Call it what your truth needs right now. And together, we'll share in a spirit of love, and the love honors people in need, people- and animals and Earth and nature that is shifting and going through change. Some of it was elected, a lot of it was not. But honoring the fact that there's something right now that deserves to be addressed with love, healing, resource. So let's come to this with a clearer energy and mind by beginning with a breath. Take a nice, easy, deep breath with me right now and hold it for just a moment at the top. And as you fill your lungs with air, imagine that air is filling your body from the top of your head down to your toes, out to your fingers. And as you let it out easily, let your body relax the way it needs to be. And continue to take nice, beautiful, deep, cleansing breaths, and feel the muscles in your face relax. Let your jaw let go. Let that breath carry nourishment into your lungs and throughout all of your cells. Let your shoulders lower where they belong. Let your neck feel free. Let the air circulate easily down your shoulders, your arms, into your hands. Let your fingers and your hands relax. No need for fists. Let your chest soften, your belly relax Let your body feel heavy in your seat. And I'd love to draw your attention to your feet with me right now. Use your imagination with me, and let's imagine that our feet are grounded in water. Imagine your feet are bare. Whether you can physically do this or not right now, you have bare feet in soothing water that's clean and clear. Maybe it's ocean water and your feet are swallowed up by the sand as the water wades around your ankles. Maybe you prefer a lake life, and you might feel some of the grasses under your feet as the water has completely covered your toes and your feet up to your ankles, maybe up to your knees. Maybe your feet are in a brook, and you feel river rocks underneath the soles of your feet. And let those waters that rush past you run over your feet and make you feel the energy of that beautiful water. Wherever feels most satisfying to you. Those waters are submerging and holding your feet and keeping you connected to the earth right now. And with every breath, you continue to circulate the knowing and the connection of the air in your lungs and in your body and the waters of the earth beneath your feet. And those beautiful waters are plentiful. They are clear. They're fresh. They're renewing. They wash us with their beautiful healing powers. Water is so powerful. Imagine that your emotions are water, and the emotions can wash over you, but they never have to stick there. You put your feet in them to feel them, to acknowledge the truth of your emotions. And what emotions can you connect with in the soothing sensation of those waters around your feet right now? And let's imagine those waters are wrapping the earth right now. Those beautiful waters are everywhere they're needed. They surround the earth, not in a drown, just in a nourishment. Everywhere that is parched and needing rain feels the waters roll in gently and lovingly The rains may start to fall. There's no need for lightning. No, no extra electricity, no extra fire needed in these waters. They are here to rinse and to nourish and to hydrate and to snuff out flames that have worked far too hard and ravaged far too long. Let those rains rinse your field. Imagine soft little droplets on your skin. Not enough to make you feel cold, just enough to rinse off the worries that may have stuck to your body. These are the emotions of gratitude and grace and healing, and these healing waters rinse your field as they rinse the grounds everywhere needed on the Earth. They make beautiful rings on the surface of peaceful waters. They fill the ponds that get a little too dried up. They rinse the trees. They rinse the soot. The waters will snuff out the flames that threaten and ravage. The waters are here as resource, and the flames have worked so hard and so long, they get to rest for a while. The trees will regenerate. The soil will be nourished. The animals, the people who have retreated will find dry land where they need it to be once the waters have worked their way through. And as we visualize these beautiful cleansing waters, I want you to imagine the love in your heart radiating, warming with the waters that might feel a little too cold, lighting the path where the waters might feel a little dark so that you can see where you need to go. Let that love radiate. Let it lighten the space where you are standing or sitting with your feet in the water right now. And imagine that love that radiates through the water traveling all the way around the Earth, touching the oceans, the lakes, the ponds, the rains coating the land. That love is touching everything because the whole Earth is blanketed with bodies of water and rains everywhere it is needed. Those waters wrap all the way around the Earth. They connect you to the trees, to the lands, to the people of all different colors and races and creeds. That same water is the same love that travels throughout creation. So let's just take a few moments now of, of silence while you imagine your love radiating and touching the love of creation throughout the world right now, as if they're gentle tides circulating in all directions among all creatures, of all languages and all forms. And let that love, those healing waters- do what they need to do in this moment in time throughout the world. And as those waters are circulating, continue with your deep relaxing breaths and feel that love circulating throughout your body and your field around you. As parts of the earth receive these waters I want you to use your imagination with me right now and visualize the new life that can begin once these waters perform their purpose. The new life that stirs ash into nourishing soil that sterilizes soil, that can renew with new growth. Imagine seedlings sprouting that will become grand trees And the birds' nests that will be feathered inside the branches The fruits that will come from the blooms in those future trees. The grasses that will renew and come back with greater vitality and life in them The Earth is being made new destruction as part of creation And where we may see things being torn away, that is the promise of the new growth to come. So let's focus on the growth and create in our minds the beauty and the healing and the new life that will spring from what has already taken place. Let's carry remembrance of love, remembrance of inspiration, remembrance of nature thriving, blooming, connecting, homes being built. Those who had to retreat will be supported by all the resource of creation Communities showing up for one another. Compassion spreading wider and deeper than ever before. Skies clear. Grounds nourished. Hydrated. Rinsed. And as you remember your feet in the same waters that are all around the Earth, everywhere they are needed most, remember you are rooted in this creation of life along with all of the other creatures. And be grateful. Be grateful for your role as I am grateful for mine. And every time you start to feel alone, remember your feet in these waters connected to all others. And as your day goes on, if fear starts to take root again, rinse it away. Stick your feet in those waters and rinse it off, and let it be transmuted into something more nourishing. The next time you see rains, imagine how it feels on your skin. Imagine the waters falling everywhere they are needed, and these waters are clean, and they are clear, and they are full of the nutrients that they were designed to be. And you are fully the person you are designed to be. We are the people we are designed to be, and everything we are is good enough. So remember the power of your thoughts. Those thoughts that make your shoulders relax back down where they belong, those same thoughts create beautiful love. That same love in your soul radiating through your body will help perpetuate those thoughts that will create hope, healing, vitality, and future. And as we stay here in gratitude, Tomorrow will be exactly what it needs to be. We do not fear; we love. Because where there is love, there is hope. There is renewal, resilience, joyful expansion. And we get to Picture Love with every breath of every day and every night. So I invite you to make that decision to see the healing we hope for. Don't just want it; feel it. Feel the healing in your body. Feel that pulse as evidence. Dream and imagine it. Reminisce. What are the words we speak that heal? Anywhere that fear wants to take up, let's just plant more seeds of love. Let's trust the waters. Let's trust the fire. Let's tell it. You've worked hard enough- It's time to rest and let the Earth recover as she is meant to be. And with your next deep relaxing breath, I invite you to start moving your fingers gently. Maybe rotate your wrists. Maybe gently shift your shoulders and your neck. Maybe move your toes. Rotate your ankles. And when you're ready, if you haven't already, gently blink your eyes open and choose to see the hope and the love of healing waters And if you happen to see some rain today, thank it and trust it to be where it needs to be. Trust it to get there. And never forget, your feet are in the waters that surround creation. We are pieces of a whole Thank you for Picturing Love with me today. I hope it carries you with great hope and resilience. And I hope you will return to this again and again as long as you need to, and collectively, let's soothe those raging flames, whether they are actual fire or they're the fires that burn in one's belly. Let's soothe the flames that don't need to ravage, and let's Picture Love in all of the elements and in all of the stages of life. Until next time, keep Picturing Love, friends. Bye-bye.
